About Your Role

Margaret: What is your role at AKYRA, and what does a typical day look like for you?
Morgan: My role at AKYRA is HR Business Partner / Business Operations
Manager, and no two days are ever the same! Between onsite visits with clients, ad hoc requests for complex HR matters, and managing AKYRA’s internal operations, my days are wonderfully varied from start to finish.
Margaret: What do you enjoy most about your work?
Morgan: I absolutely love partnering with our clients to deliver tailored people solutions that align with their strategic direction. Building robust relationships with the businesses we support is my favourite part, it’s all about trust, connection, and collaboration.
Margaret: What drew you to this role or to AKYRA?
Morgan: I was looking for a role that would let me use my experience in corporate HR and employee relations while allowing me to partner with multiple businesses and learn more about small to medium-sized companies. My role at AKYRA has provided so many learning opportunities. I get to do what I love – build relationships and create strategic people solutions that make a real difference.

Background & Experience

Margaret: Can you share a bit about your background or previous experience?
Morgan: I have a broad background in human resources, employee relations, and leadership across multinational and private-sector organisations. My experience spans industries like IT, health and fitness, retail, hospitality, facilities management, oil and gas, transport, and aviation, so it’s safe to say I’ve seen it all!
Margaret: What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
Morgan: My background in employee relations and years of client partnership work have really shaped me into the business partner I am today. Having both technical expertise and hands-on client experience has made the transition into small business smooth and rewarding.

Personal Touch

Margaret: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Morgan: I’m a proud mum of two beautiful girls, aged 3.5 and 8 months and a 4- year-old Golden Retriever who all keep me on my toes!
Margaret: Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
Morgan: I love keeping fit and being active with my family. Right now, I’m training for the Brisbane HYROX doubles in April 2026! Of course, this is perfectly balanced with my love of dining out with my husband, friends, and family, usually with a red wine (or two) in hand!
Margaret: What’s a fun fact about you?
Morgan: I’ve been singing since I was three years old! It’s something I’d love to get back into as an adult, it’s such a joyful outlet.

Margaret: What’s your favourite thing about working with the AKYRA team?
Morgan: The collaboration and opportunities to learn. It’s inspiring to work with a team that brings together diverse backgrounds and experiences, everyone offers unique perspectives when we’re solving challenges and finding better ways to serve our clients.
Margaret: How do you like to collaborate or support others at work?
Morgan: Communication is key! I like to keep the lines open day-to-day, make sure everyone’s clear on priorities, and share context from clients. I’m always ready to jump in and help wherever I can. I think teamwork works best when we’re honest, approachable, and focused on finding practical solutions together.

Looking Ahead

Margaret: What are you looking forward to in your role?
Morgan: I’m really looking forward to enhancing my leadership skills and becoming the best leader I can be now that I’ve taken on the Business Operations Manager role alongside my HR Business Partner responsibilities.
Margaret: Do you have any goals or projects you’re excited about?
Morgan: Absolutely! I’m excited to focus on more strategic initiatives with my clients and to continue building those trusted, long-term working relationships.
