Margaret Goody, Akyra’s Managing Director explains the motivation behind supporting the awards program and why she believes recognising employees is crucial to operational success.
“Akyra has been a proud partner of the awards program in the past and we’re excited to be afforded the opportunity to once again support the recognition of employees,” Margaret said.
“We’ve all heard the term the ‘Great Resignation’ to explain the current situation, and there’s no denying that employers are having trouble finding and keeping workers.
“A growing number of employees are also re-evaluating where they want to be and what they want, and the best workplaces that hold on to their top performing staff are those that care for their employees and support them in succeeding.
“Working with our clients all over Australia, we know that engagement and recognition is crucial to retaining quality staff and celebrating their achievements, contributions and efforts is a way to make employees feel valued and supported.”
Businesses and organisations have until midnight Sunday, 17 July to get their nominations in for the Akyra Award for Employee of the Year.
“Akyra is proud to be a sponsor of this category, and personally I’m honoured to sit on the judging panel.
“Whether businesses and employees make it through to the finals, or win, this certainly isn’t the main reason to get involved.
“The fact that as a leader, or a business, you’ve taken the time to recognise and acknowledge the efforts of your team sends a powerful message to your employees, letting them know you embrace and prioritise them and their achievements.”
To reward all businesses that nominate a team member in the Employee of the Year, they’ll be offered the opportunity to “Ask Margaret Anything” for 60 minutes. This session is free and aimed at supporting and assisting businesses with any burning questions, or those looking for guidance on people management related topics.
Nominations are now open for the 2022 Moreton Bay Business Excellence & Innovation Awards and close midnight Sunday, 17 July. Finalists will be announced Monday, 22 August and winners awarded at the Gala Awards ceremony on 21 October.
